It's cold outside and in keeping with our sustainability plan we are burning compacted oat husks in the boiler - providing heat for the main building, pool and meeting rooms. We also heat the water for the laundry. The oat husks are a biproduct of the breakfast cereal made at Quaker Oats in Peterborough. Alternating between oak husks and wood pellets we are able to heat the water flowing through the ducts - providing even heat throughout the public areas.

There is quite a buzz around the kiteboarding weekend Jan 29....come on out and try kiting on the lake.
