Great day for a summer launch....Peterborough and the

Kawarthas Tourism welcomed summer with a kick-off here today...tourism partners gathered for training, brochure exchanges and local food sampling. The Culinary Guide was also introduced (Michael Sterpin and Stephen Elmhirst are featured on our page with recipes for Red Fife Wheat Pasta). Don't leave the Kawarthas without a copy.

Father's Day coming soon....you know what to do!

Greetings to Hansreudi as he heads home from his 70th visit to the Resort to fly floatplanes.

Greg Elmhirst and Chef Sterpin check out the next course coming off the barbecue at the Winemakers Dinner on Sunday. The backyard barbecue event, a six course affair, paired with wines from John Howard Cellars of Distinction was held on the boardwalk and in the Enterprise Room, overlooking the lake. The Arthritis Society was the recipient of just shy of $1,600 from the proceeds of a silent auction. Thank you to those who participated in the fun and went home with great gift packages.

Despite the threat of rain, the view remained as splendid as ever. One of the guests mentioned the energy in the room...it was a gregarious group of foodies and wine lovers.....all the right ingredients for a successful evening. Let's do it again!

Happy Birthday to Greg Elmhirst, who was so busy working away this weekend we didn't even have cake to celebrate. We did sing but that's no substitute for cake!

Lobsterfest is next weekend and there are tickets available....$100 per couple. Good feast and fun.

Peter took this shot in Copeway (our wilderness lake fly-in camp) with his iphone ... unbelievably magical! If you are looking for a true getaway you must book a day to the wilderness camp....it's very cool. Makes a wonderful, creative and unexpected Fathers Day gift......I'm just saying.....you can't go wrong.

Marina was in the Spa today (it's not quite done) trying out the new Pedi-chair....squeals of delight and some snores from the guest would indicate it was a very big hit. Have you booked your Spa treatment yet? Don't be disappointed!

After the rain we found Fern Gully on our morning walk....it was beautiful! If you join us on a walk this summer we'll share the location.

We're gearing up for a wedding this weekend and of course, The Winemakers Dinner on Sunday - I hope the conference delegates who are working so diligently will return to relax and enjoy the Resort with their families.
